“We undertake joint initiatives, such as conferences and the Personal Data Protection Open Day, and we also educate specialists in the field of the right to privacy and personal data protection within the framework of postgraduate studies launched at this university called Personal Data Protection in Administration and Business - Data Protection Officer. I am convinced that the support of the Office and the patronage of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office is a guarantee of a high level of education in this field.”- Jakub Groszkowski, Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office started the conference, reading out a letter from Mirosław Wróblewski, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office. The President stressed that the Personal Data Protection Office has been successfully cooperating with the WSB University for more than a dozen years. He recalled that the culmination of joint activities was a signing of a cooperation agreement on the right to   privacy and personal data protection in 2011.

After the inauguration ceremony, participants listened to expert speeches. Issues of privacy by design in the design and implementation of new technologies in an organisation were the subject of a speech by Monika Krasińska, Director of the Case Law and Legislation Department of the Personal Data Protection Office.

Paulina Dawidczyk, Director of the Complaints Department of the Personal Data Protection Office, discussed the issue of monitoring at the workplace and personal data protection. In her presentation, she discussed the legal regulations concerning the matter she was discussing and cited relevant examples from the case law.

The last speaker, Krystian Mączka PhD, a specialist in cyber security and computer crime, court appointed expert in computer forensics, and Data Protection Officer at the WSB University, introduced the audience to the problem of computer crime in the context of personal data protection. Every year, higher education institutions with which the President of the Office has entered into cooperation agreements are involved in the co-organisation of the Open Days of the Personal Data Protection Office. On the occasion of the Personal Data Protection Day, universities organise meetings and conferences with the participation of the Personal Data Protection Office’s experts. The WSB University has been involved in the organisation of the event since the initiative’s inception in 2012. Since 2011, the university has specialised in educating experts in the field of personal data protection in administration and business, inter alia, within the framework of postgraduate studies carried out in cooperation with the Personal Data Protection Office.
