The President of the Polish SA talks with representatives of the Association of Voice Overs

Mirosław Wróblewski, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, met with representatives of the Association of Voice Overs of the Republic of Poland – President Paweł Bukrewicz and Vice-Presidents Tomasz Kozłowicz and Aleksander Pawlikowski.

During the meeting, the subject of personal data protection in the voice over profession was discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on the development and growing popularity of artificial intelligence technologies, including voice cloning tools. Representatives of the association expressed their concerns about the negative impact that these innovations may have on the sound of the Polish language. The use of AI tools may in particular contribute to the impoverishment and deprivation of a specific cultural context of the Polish language.

"Artificial intelligence gives us a chance for another developmental leap, but we must be aware of the dangers that may be associated with the possibilities of this technology. The use of AI raises serious challenges in terms of the need to ensure the protection of citizens' personal data and privacy. The role of the Personal Data Protection Office is to guard these values and pay attention to both the threats that already exist and the potential ones," said Mirosław Wróblewski, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the problems related to the market underestimation of the importance of the sound of the Polish language, including the lack of appropriate regulations protecting the profession of television and film voice overs.
