The President of the Personal Data Protection Office met with representatives of Meta

On December 11, Mirosław Wróblewski, President of the Personal Data Protection Office, and Agnieszka Grzelak, Deputy President the Personal Data Protection Office, along with the co-workers, met with Meta representatives Cecilia Alvarez, Director of Privacy Policy Engagement, Europe, and Stephen Deadman, VP, Data Protection Officer.

During the meeting discussed the company's product governance mechanisms and structures in the European region, taking into account privacy and data protection. It was also an opportunity to present the tasks facing the newly established Privacy Policy Team supporting Meta's contacts with the data protection authorities of more than 30 countries in the region.

The use of personal data to train artificial intelligence models and the legal basis and methods for fulfilling human rights were also discussed. Particular attention was given to the need to provide new tools to counter the use of publicly identifiable people's data in false advertising and other content targeted at users of social media platforms. The affected persons are those whose data has been used, as well as the recipients of this content, who are directed outside the platforms to sites specially prepared by cyber criminals. This issue remains of particular interest to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

The meeting was a further step in developing the PL SA's cooperation with representatives of the social media sector and the exchange of information in areas relevant to digital market players in Europe.
