The Polish supervisory authority at the conference on whistleblowers’ protection

Konrad Komornicki, Deputy President of the Personal Data Protection Office, took part in the Conference ‘Challenges for the protection of whistleblowers on the capital market from the perspective of practitioners’ organised by WKB Lawyers. The event took place on 12 December 2024 in the Quotation Room of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Monika Krasińska, Director of the Case Law and Legislation Department, also participated in the conference.

During his speech, Konrad Komornicki presented, inter alia, practical problems related to the implementation of the Act on protection of whistleblowers, which has been in force since 25 September 2024. The Deputy President of the PL SA discussed key issues such as reporting breaches of the law, measures to protect whistleblowers and employers' obligations. He paid particular attention to the requirement to ensure the confidentiality of the identity of whistleblowers and the need to align internal procedures with the provisions of the Act to ensure the effectiveness of whistleblower protection in practice. 

The conference provided an important forum for the exchange of experience and knowledge on whistleblower protection, offering practical guidance for capital market participants.
